The Imminent Revolution in HR
We all say People
are the most important capital in an Organization. Yes. We all like to agree
and state that.
But, truly, are most
companies and HR managers really focused in managing persons? Or are we all
still managing groups of persons?
Honestly I can’t
tell if it is going to take 1 or 5 years. But I’m pretty sure it is unavoidable.
In the competitive markets, People will manage themselves. Not companies.
That been said, these
professionals will choose the company able to provide the conditions that they –
individually – aspire. If they won’t find this Employer, they will easily
employ themselves and. And the relation with companies will be contracted, on a
project / task basis.
For long we have
been watching the free-lance market growing, and gaining more and more
believers, both in the supplier and in the demand sides.
Companies, if they want
to have their own workforce, will have to severely change their governance and
management models.
These professionals
want to be responsible, to take decisions, to assume risks, to feel comfortable
and secure in doing so. They want to practice, contribute with their own ideas.
It will be harder
and harder for companies to maintain rare talented people in the competitive
markets.
And, guess what. If
you have yet even considered this, you are so damn late.
